Michelle is a volunteer of 10 years at DataKind, currently acting as an Ethics advisor, ensuring responsible use of data across DataKind UK's projects and programmes. She has completed her PhD in Computer Science & Technology at the University of Cambridge, focusing on algorithmic fairness in machine learning systems. She now works as a Senior Manager and AI lead in Risk Advisory at a 'Big Four' professional services organisation. Michelle first began volunteering with the charity DataKind in New York in 2014. After moving to London in 2015, she joined DataKind UK as a core member of the volunteer community.
