Matthias Holweg
Matthias is the American Standard Companies Professor of Operations Management at Saïd Business School and an Ordinary Student at Christ Church, University of Oxford. His research investigates how organizations harness digital technologies to generate both economic and societal value, focusing specifically on using advanced analytics to transform operational workflows and decision-making processes.
His current work examines the intersection of AI innovation and responsible governance, developing frameworks that ensure AI systems meet stringent standards for legal compliance, ethical integrity, and technical reliability. At Oxford Saïd, he oversees the Technology and Operations Management and Leading Digital Transformation course offerings and directs the Oxford Artificial Intelligence and AI Ethics, Regulation and Compliance Programmes. Prior to joining Oxford, he was on the faculty of the University of Cambridge and a Sloan Industry Center Fellow at MIT’s Engineering Systems Division.
