Leon Staufer

Leon (he/they) is a researcher at the intersection of artificial intelligence, ethics, and governance, currently focused on developing more effective mechanisms for AI oversight. He studied computer science at the Technical University of Munich and philosophy with a law minor at LMU Munich, complementing his studies with academic exchanges in Singapore, Stockholm, and the San Francisco Bay Area. He is a scholar of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and the ML Alignment & Theory Scholars program. At the Responsible Technology Hub, Leon supports startups with AI impact assessments. Previously, he served as a youth delegate to the Congress of the Council of Europe and sat on the board of All Tech Is Human’s University Network. Leon’s academic and policy engagements connect disciplines, stakeholders, and systems. Outside of work, he enjoys climbing, meditating, and making new connections.
