David Attew
David is responsible for Aquis Exchange PLC Group's regulatory policy and its relationships with the financial regulators. He leads Aquis' Artificial Intelligence research programme to apply machine learning techniques for trade surveillance and the detection of potential market abuse.
David has been a Compliance Officer since 2001. He has a bachelor's degree in physics and a masters degree in intelligent systems and artificial intelligence. He started the early years of his career working as a quantitative analyst for a research house specializing in constructing sovereign bond portfolios for US and Japanese investment banks. After a spell with UK equity fund managers at Merrill Lynch he moved into a compliance/AML role at All IPO, a small company specializing in IPOs. He spent 3 years working for NYSE Euronext as compliance officer of their European dark pool MTF. He performed a variety of additional compliance and AML functions for the NYSE Euronext group and was UK Compliance Ethics Officer before moving to Aquis Exchange PLC in April 2014.
