Craig Saunders
Craig gained a PhD in Machine Learning from the University of London in 2000. He spent 9 years as an academic, working on several UK, EU and industrial research projects across a breadth of topics including drug discovery, computer security, machine translation and finance. In 2009 Craig moved into the industry, working for Xerox based in France, where he managed diverse research teams including machine learning, computer vision, business process modelling and others, delivering AI solutions in transportation, customer care, and legal e-discovery among others. Craig then moved to Amazon, building out Natural Language Understanding and Knowledge Graph systems for Alexa, and in 2022 led teams building Amazon’s next Generation Textual Large Language Models.
