Born in Tucson, Arizona, Brian Kurn has over 30 years of experience in motorsports, currently serving as an Engine Simulation Analyst at Hendrick Motorsports. Starting as a cylinder head machinist in 1988, he advanced through roles at prominent racing teams like Reher-Morrison, Roush Fenway Racing and Hendrick Motorsports, contributing to five NASCAR Cup Series championships with three different manufacturers.
Kurn’s expertise includes engine simulation, CFD, and valvetrain design as well as tuning NASCAR engines at the racetrack. He has led significant projects at ECR Engines and Roush & Yates Racing Engines, developing innovative 1D and 3D engine simulations to optimize performance. His collaborations with industry leaders like Convergent Science Inc. and Intel HPC have been instrumental in advancing racing engine technology. Kurn enjoys a total of almost 10 years with Hendrick Motorsports. His contributions in his tenure at Hendrick Motorsports, have accumulated to nearly 100 wins.
