Elisabetta (Betta) Righini, partner at Latham & Watkins in Brussels, helps clients navigate regulatory frameworks in Europe and represents them in front of EU institutions and courts. Betta has particular expertise in the digital sector and regularly advises digital platforms and other technology companies on developments in the Digital Single Market, including in connection with the EU’s AI Act. Prior to joining the firm, Betta worked for 15 years in high-level positions at the European Commission, last as legal advisor to former Competition Commissioner and Vice-President Joaquín Almunia.
