Ahmed Ali Ahmed Alqayed Alhammadi
Ahmed is a Principal Researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Cross Center Unit within the Technology Innovation Institute in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He earned his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2022, a Master’s in Communications Engineering in 2015, and a Bachelor’s in Electronics Engineering in 2011—all from Khalifa University. His career in research and development began immediately after completing his undergraduate studies. Ahmed’s work focuses on developing innovative AI and machine learning solutions to tackle complex challenges across diverse domains.
He is currently leading efforts on efficient Mixture of Experts (MoE) architectures for large language models, deepening his expertise in state-of-the-art AI technologies. In 2024, he secured first place in the Global Signal Processing Grand Challenge, organized by MIT at the ICASSP conference, with a pioneering deep neural network (DNN)-based solution. Earlier, in 2011, he was selected as one of 60 elite Emiratis for the prestigious Al Nokhba internship at Global Foundries.
Ahmed is deeply engaged in early-stage research aimed at shaping future technological advancements. He holds several patents, has contributed to key book chapters, and frequently presents at international conferences. His passion for pushing the boundaries of AI and ML continues to drive his pursuit of transformative innovations in this rapidly evolving field.
