Michelle is a volunteer of nine years at DataKind as an Ethics Advisor, ensuring responsible use of data across DataKind UK's projects and programmes. She has completed her PhD in Computer Science & Technology at the University of Cambridge, focusing on algorithmic fairness in machine learning systems.

She now works as a Senior Manager and AI lead in Risk Advisory at a 'Big 4' professional services organisation. Michelle first began volunteering with DataKind in New York in 2014. After moving to London in 2015, she joined DataKind UK as a core member of the volunteer community.
