Jonathan Rankin is the Head of Data for MyTutor, the UK's leading online platform for one-to-one learning. He was previously at the Guardian for seven years, where he was a founding member of the Contributions team that transformed the Guardian into a reader-funded organization before moving into data and running the data design and data technology teams.

For the past four years, Jonathan has been a visiting fellow at the Global Institute for Women's Leadership, Kings College. He performs a tech/data advisory role and has contributed to projects such as the research paper "Women's representation and voice in media coverage of the coronavirus crisis," published in October 2020.
