Amjad is the capability Centre manager for data science and machine learning group, responsible for replicating and deploying AI solutions at scale at Shell. Amjad has over 25 years' experience, last 15 years in Shell for developing algorithms and delivering software products. He has worked in several industries including bio-tech and environmental monitoring consultancy, in a variety of roles including project and programme management, and more recently building natural teams and developing talent. Amjad holds a first degree in chemistry and a PhD in 'Theoretical Physics and Chemistry'. Amjad has been passionate about data since his teenage days, when he rigorously studied cricket, football and athletic facts and statistics, looking for trends and patterns. In his spare time, Amjad enjoys spending time with the family, he has three teenagers at home, cooking, playing football and the outdoors.
